How This Age Calculator Works

Enter your date of birth, and optionally a reference date (defaults to today), and the calculator returns your exact age in years, months, and days. It also shows the total time elapsed in days, hours, and minutes, and counts down the days to your next birthday.

The Math Behind It

Unlike a naive subtraction of years, a proper age calculation must handle calendar irregularities: different month lengths (28–31 days) and leap years. The calculator walks the difference month-by-month, borrowing days from the previous month when needed — exactly how you'd subtract dates by hand.
